About Me

Mahogany Taylor Attorney at Law

Mahogany Taylor is dedicated to providing the highest level of personalized service to her clients and understands this may be an unsure and difficult time. She founded the Law Office of Mahogany Taylor, a boutique law firm, on the idea that visiting an attorney’s office should be a pleasant experience, not an uncomfortable one.

My name is Mahogany Taylor and I live in San Diego with my husband and two sons. I grew up in Northern California and in 2003, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University. Shortly thereafter, I decided to pursue a law degree and graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2006. While in law school, I was an academic scholarship winner and an officer of the Black Law Student Association, Women’s Law Association and Criminal Law Society.

Following law school, I worked as a private criminal defense attorney in San Diego County. As a defense attorney, I was dedicated to ensuring justice was served in every case. At that time, my husband and I started a family, so I began to think critically about what would happen to my children if something happened to us. I also wanted the ability to spend more time with my children, so being in court all day as a defense attorney was no longer an option.

Of all the attorneys I knew, none of them did estate planning. My friends were also having children and had similar concerns so I decided to switch to Estate Planning law and focus on helping families feel secure, ensuring that instructions were in place to take care of their loved ones if anything happened to them.

In 2012, I opened my own law practice and pursued a career in Estate Planning and Probate. I have been working with families to put plans in place to ensure their loved ones are taken care of when a person dies or become incapacitated.

My clients include families with minor children, individuals, couples with adult children, blended families, senior citizens, retired couples or individuals with and without children or grandchildren. I work diligently and attentively to ensure every case and situation is handled effectively and appropriately.

I truly enjoy getting to know each client, their concerns, and their wishes in order to tailor a plan to best service their needs. I take pride in providing excellent and individualized attention to each client, helping them understand every step of the process.

I measure succes with my clients as having a plan set in place so their loved ones are taken care of and my clients wishes will be carried out after they die. I also make sure my clients are educated on how each of the documents work to protect them during incapacity and protect their loved ones after death.

I want to help my clients and their families. I always offer an inital free call to learn about a client’s situation. Once I have a better understanding of a client’s needs I will provide them with a price. I do not think it’s good business or a good practice to charge people without them understanding how my services will help them, what the fee will be, and when a fee will be incurred.

I am here to educate you on how your family and loved ones will be affected by the decisions you are making. I make every effort to return phone calls and emails within 24-48 hours. If there is a holiday, that time may be extended.
